Bistro Karel—a bistro in a wild garden, owned by a family, offer specialty coffee, natural wine, fermented lemonades, home-made pastry, nice brunches (map)

DosaDosa—tiny local bistro owned by a couple, vegan, mostly Indian(ish), we go there really often (map)

Alma—casual fancy restaurant, really delicious traditional Czech food with a twist, big hype these days = reservation necessary (map)

Kantyna—Great modern place for typical Czech food & beer, a lot of meat dishes options, we love their potato pancake—typical Czech style (map)

Kuchyn—typical Czech cuisine, a lot of meat & great beer on tap, beautiful view as this restaurant sits right next to Prague Castle (map)

Vycep Korunni—they serve great local pivo beer and create “unique dishes out of produce they hunt, catch, grow, make in house, or get from their favourite farmers” (map)

Stangl—really nice bistro, “We work with ingredients from our local fields, the wild nature and our own hydroponic farm, utilising noble moulds or fermentation. We are considerate towards nature and diligent with sourcing locally.” (map)

Kro Kitchen—“Fine-dining skill, casual vibe” really nice bistros (map; see other locations on web)

Savoy—“the buzz of a Viennese café from morning until late afternoon and a refined dinner inspired by French cuisine in the evening” (map)

Marie B.—new place, haven’t been yet, fine dine bistro with a nice selection of wines (map)

U Mateje—traditional Czech cuisine by one of the best Czech chefs, although further from the city center (map)

Lokál—modern “traditional Czech pubs, where good beer and hearty cuisine are a priority”—traditional Czech dishes (multiple locations)

San Carlo at Mala Strana—true pizza vera Napoletana e cucina Mediterranea (map)

Sansho—“dishes combining fresh local produce and quality meat from slow-grown animals, using both new and traditional techniques that go hand in hand with our respect for the environment. Nose to tail and leaf-to-roots is what we love” (map)

Slice Slice Baby—new pizza place, young couple runs it, “Sourdough pizza is divine” (map)

Grounds—cool modern café (Prague 8 and Prague 1)

SmetanaQ—nice modern café, ideal for brunch or afternoon dessert, with a nice view over river and castle panorama (map)

Kavarna Novy Svet—close to Prague castle, cute place, they have a garden inside and good coffee (map)

Cukrar Skala—Best place to taste “the sweetest craft in the world”, high-quality desserts of both traditional and completely innovative taste. Our wedding cakes were from this artistic place. (map)

Kus Kolace—delicious koláče = cakes (map)

Arctic—bakery founded by Icelanders, great bread, sweet pastries to go and sandwiches (multiple locations)

Ema espresso bar—pretty nice coffee (multiple locations)

Slavia—traditional café since 1881 with nice view of the river and castle panorama, sits right next to national theater (map)

Café Letka—nice homey (and a little hipster) café with nice snacks and brunch (map)

Místo—nice modern café, great brunch and dessert snacks (map)

House at the Black Madonna—Possibly the only cubist café in the world – located in a beautiful cubist house built in 1912 (map)

Kasárna Karlín—former barracks made into modern café / bar (map)

Anežka—nice modern / art café + brunch / snacks (map)

U Černého vola—without doubt one of the classic old beerhalls of Prague since 1730s. Very local. (map)
